The AAC 51 version shares the same distinctive and uncluttered shell as the rest of the About A Chair series, designed by Hee Welling for HAY. The chair features a five-legged castor base equipped with a semi-automatic gas lift that can adjust the seat height from 42 to 56 cm. The stylish, functional design combined with the elegant swivel base makes it perfect for formal or official settings and work-at-home offices.

Warranty

HAY provides a 5-year product warranty, which covers materials and workmanship on our furniture frame and upholstery. The warranty covers faults which were present at the time of purchase or which have occurred as a result of defects present at the time of purchase. The warranty period of 5 years is calculated from the date on the original invoice.

Spare parts are available throughout the 5 year warranty period.

Designers

Hee Welling The son of a cabinetmaker, Hee Welling grew up in his father’s shop, right next to the family home in Denmark. Establishing his own studio in 2003, Welling got his first big break with the Hee Chair from HAY, being made entirely of metal, was quite a departure from the cabinetmaking shop. He went on to design one of Scandinavia's most popular and versatile chairs for HAY, the About A Chair.
